Visiting the 2-3 Room

In the 2-3 Room the children are at a time for developing language and social skills. There is a wide selection of opportunities for the children to explore, investigate and learn, in a safe stimulating environment.

The children are encouraged to paint, draw and engage in a wide range of creative activities, and in quieter moments there is time to look at books or complete jigsaws. The children also have the opportunity to rest if necessary, sleeping on comfortable sleep mats and cushions.

Outside, strength and physical skills are developed with the help of a range of trikes, slides and climbing frames. The children are encouraged to develop their social skills such as turn-taking by playing ball games etc., in the playground.

Toilet training can be a stressful time, at Abbey, we aim to work with parents to allow the children to progress at their own speed. Each child is an individual and toilet training will be encouraged when the child is ready.
The staff to child ratio is one to five.
