Introduction

Abbey Nursery Houston is currently registered with the Care Commission to look after 92 children from birth to 5 years and works in partnership with Renfrewshire Council to offer pre-school and ante pre-school places for children, prior to their move to Primary School.

The Nursery is inspected annually by the Care Commission and approximately every five years by HMIe; ensuring we adhere to the policies and procedures and educational outcomes identified by each organisation and offer the highest quality standard of care to our young children.

The last Care Commission inspection took place on 22 Juney 2010 in which the service received gradings of Good and Very Good in every area covering Quality of Care and Support; Quality of Environment; Quality of Staffing and Quality of Management and Leadership. Although very pleased with this endorsement of the Nursery, the Management and Staff will continue to look for ways to improve the service and are keen to involve Parents and Children in this in a positive way.
